Frederic and Ronza CREATES develops arts programming with a strong community focus. Our events showcase a vibrant mix of local artists, performers, and the Local Vocals Community Choir, creating experiences that uplift and inspire. We believe the arts should be accessible to everyone—offering low-cost tickets and collaborating with community partners to ensure no one is left out. Through the transformative power of music and creativity, we connect people, strengthen communities, and make the arts a shared experience for all.

Using the power of music to build community

Local Vocals is a community choir founded in 2022, bringing people together through the joy of music. We rehearse once per month, with extra practices before performances at concerts, community events, and live shows. The choir sings all types of music including show tunes, gospel, pop, and more.

Our mission is simple: boost emotional well-being, strengthen community connections, and reduce loneliness. Research shows singing in a choir can increase optimism and help people feel less isolated. Join us and be part of something uplifting.

Rehearsals take place at the Indy Art Center, once a month on Tuesday's at 7p.m.  No experience and no audition needed.

For more information, contact us here. fredericandronza@gmail.com or text, 616-250-8376, or join us at rehearsal.

More Than a Choir

Our choir is far more than a place to sing. It is a welcoming community where participants build friendships, reduce stress, improve emotional wellness, and experience a true sense of belonging.

Participants consistently describe choir as a positive outlet that helps them release stress, lift their mood, and feel reenergized after difficult days. Many also share that the choir has helped them form meaningful connections with people they otherwise may never have met.

For some members, choir is one of the few places where they feel fully included, valued, and supported. Parents and caregivers have also noted increased confidence, joy, and social connection among participants.

Through music and community, our programming helps participants:

  • Reduce stress and improve mood
  • Build friendships and social connection
  • Increase confidence and self-expression
  • Experience belonging and inclusion
  • Strengthen overall emotional wellness

The impact of our choir extends far beyond music — creating a supportive community where people feel seen, encouraged, and connected.

Blu- A Musical Play

by Frederic & Ronza CREATES

Blu: A Community Journey Through the Blues

Take a deep dive into the blues. This musical experience invites you on a powerful journey to hear how blues music gave strength to both individuals and entire communities, helping them persevere through hardship—and how it sparked and shaped so many other styles, from pop and rock ’n’ roll to soul, gospel, and more. One thing is for sure: you’ll love the music and the story.

More than a show—your community is part of it

Our focus is connection. We collaborate with local artists, choirs, schools, and neighborhood partners so the voices you hear on stage reflect the voices of our city. Audience members aren’t just spectators; they’re participants in a living tradition.

Why it matters

The blues is a testament to resilience and community care. By participating—on stage, in the audience, or behind the scenes—you help keep that legacy alive and ensure this story belongs to all who hear it.

Motown Forever

Can you feel it

Not your classic Motown show—this is the story of what came next.
Discover where those legendary Motown artists ended up, and hear the sounds of others who were connected to the movement. This isn’t just nostalgia—it’s the soundtrack that carried us into the 80s and beyond. If you love the music of that era, you just might find yourself reliving the soundtrack of your life.

But it’s more than a concert. Our focus is on community engagement and local participation—partnering with musicians, singers, and neighbors so the stage reflects the voices of our city. By coming together, we celebrate not only the music but also the community spirit that made it possible.

Why it matters:
Music tells our shared story. It connects generations, bridges cultures, and reminds us that our voices are strongest when lifted together. Through this show, we honor the legacy of the past while creating new memories together.

Shape

Using the power of the arts for awareness

When art speaks, hearts listen
Shape is a live arts experience that brings music, spoken word, dance, and visual art together to raise awareness about mental health and substance use disorders. Each performance is designed to move audiences toward empathy, understanding, and connection—showing how creativity can open conversations that matter.

More than a show—your community is part of it
At its core, Shape is a collaborative platform. We join forces with local artists, schools, organizations, and community partners to ensure the voices on stage reflect the voices of the city. It’s not just about watching art—it’s about building it together, and inviting audiences to be part of a living, healing dialogue.

Why it matters
Mental health and substance use disorders affect people in every community, often in silence. Shape uses the power of the arts to break through stigma, create space for empathy, and remind us that healing happens together. Every collaborator, participant, and audience member plays a role in shaping that future.

Bring Shape to your community
Imagine what could happen if your community came together through the arts to face these challenges with courage, compassion, and hope. Shape is more than a performance—it’s a movement. If you’re ready to inspire dialogue, uplift voices, and spark change, let’s create Shape together where you live.

Finally Friday

Returning Fall 2026

The goals are to showcase diverse local talent, support emerging artists, and provide high-quality entertainment that encourages repeat attendance to build community.

These events aren’t just about music—it’s about something deeper. Over the past few years, many of us have felt more disconnected whether because of COVID or the pace of everyday life.

Finally Friday is a place to connect, hear live music by locals and unwind.

Reviews

Blu-  10/4/2025

The performance was very entertaining, educational, inspiring and exciting. Great mix of entertainment that kept us laughing, moving in our seats with that incredible band and singers, interacting with the narrators (grandma was hilarious), praising the Lord with that amazing children's choir, and those dancers were vibrant and energetic, etc. It was our 1st time being VIP to any performance, so that was special being able to sit, chat, enjoy a nice charcuterie snack with sparkling apple and grape cider and we even had an opportunity to harmonize a little with the performers backstage. For us, this was one of the Greatest performances that we've ever experienced at the Paramount Theatre - Goldsboro, so thank you for helping us enjoy that special evening.  Regina V.

Blu 2/28/2025

WOW!! - I loved the presentation of BLU this past Friday. The Choir was awesome. All the hard work and practice really paid off. Keith, Leslie, the band, the dancers, and all the other performers "blew the roof off" The HJ Ricks Theatre. A great time was had by all.  Joe H.
